Believe in Me, Oprah does! (Well, in my mind she does!)

October 7, 2010

Day 7 of my 31 words in 31 days experiment!

Today’s Word:  BELIEVE

This is a great word for me because I have so many new beliefs!  I believe in ME for the first time in my life and I believe I’m in control of my destiny.  It’s a scary thought but so liberating at the same time!

A few years ago I believed that I was like “Eeyore” from Winnie the Pooh!  No matter what I did, I couldn’t catch a break!  I believed my illness (Fibromyalgia) defined me and that my future had far less opportunities in it than my healthier counterparts!  I’m so thankful that I discovered the book The Secret!  It changed everything I believed and it opened up my life to an amazing future!

I’ve been out of whack all week!  I had my Eeyore mentality back.  With today being “Believe” day, I reviewed some of my beliefs I wrote in a journal, and Yea, it got me back to my optimistic self!  So I started the day believing in my self and I’m ending my day believing in my self!  And it was great day in between!

Truly believing in yourself is an amazing change you can do for yourself.  But if you’re like me, you might need to start out small.

  • Before you go to bed, tell yourself 1 positive thing.  Like “I am a great Mom”, or “I am the best employee”.
  • Now picture other people saying that about you and FEEL how it would feel if the real person was saying it!  Whenever I start a new belief, I usually picture “Oprah” saying it!  Can you hear her singing my praises?  Well I can and what a great motivator that is for me.
  • I only do that a few times until I feel excited about my new belief and then I picture myself OWNING this belief!  I AM THE BEST WHATEVER I WANT TO BE BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!

As long as you BELIEVE in yourself you can accomplish anything!  It’s all in what you BELIEVE!  If you BELIEVE you are weak, you probably are, if you BELIEVE you are Strong, you will find inner-strength that will amaze you!

I’m so glad today was BELIEVE day for me!

Peace, Love, Joy and Harmony
